Subject ssl problem with on solaris
Date Thu, 23 May 2002 23:30:44 GMT
hi all,

i'm compiling openssl & mod_ssl.so using sun tools (/opt/SUNWspro/..., etc.).
i'm running into a load time issue. apache fails to load mod_ssl.so, and the
error states:

Cannot load /opt/proj/andyc/beach60_64/lib/apache2/mod_ssl.so into server:
ld.so.1: /opt/proj/andyc/beach60_64/bin/apache2/httpd: fatal: relocation error:
file /opt/proj/andyc/beach60_64/lib/apache2/mod_ssl.so: symbol X509_free:
referenced symbol not found

0. all other dynamic modules are loading, so it's not a configuration issue (as
far as i can tell).
1. 32 bit & 64 bit builds both have this problem.
2. not seeing any compile time errors.
3. elfdump appears (to me) to indicate the X509_free symbol is present.
4. apache 2.0.35, and the latest available openssl download
5. apache, mod_ssl & openssl are being relocated from where each element is
built into a different hierarchy. again, everything else appears to be OK.

clearly, i'll be pushing down on the linker & verify everything is linked.

any ideas?

cheers,
andy
