Subject Auth*UserFile path ?
Date Fri, 10 May 2002 15:52:21 GMT
Hello,

according to docs about AuthUserFile and AuthDBMFile:

"The AuthUserFile directive sets the name of a textual file containing the
list of users and passwords for user authentication. File-path is the path
to the user file. If it is not absolute (i.e., if it doesn't begin with a
slash), it is treated as relative to the ServerRoot."

"The AuthDBMUserFile directive sets the name of a DBM file containing the
list of users and passwords for user authentication. File-path is the
absolute path to the user file."

It seems it is impossible for us as an ISP to let users put their own user
auth files to their own directories.

Is there a possibility to define different directories (for different users
of vhosts) where Auth*File-s would be searched for?

For example:
- use DocumentRoot as basic directory (i know about security problems)
- use different ServerRoot for virtual hosts
- use another configuration directive and/or authorization module

Thanks for help.
