Subject SSI

I have installed the default Apache web server on a red-hat Linux server
1.3.22, comes with red hat, but for some reason the Server Side Includes
are not being parsed?

The httpd.conf file has the following

LoadModule includes_module    modules/mod_include.so
AddModule mod_include.c

# To use server-parsed HTML files
#
AddType text/html .smthl
AddHandler server-parsed .shtml

as well as

<Directory "/var/www/html">
        Options Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks
        AllowOverride None
        Allow from all
        Order Deny,Allow
</Directory>

The file I'm trying to load has the .shtml extension and using
<!--#include file="inc.shtml" --> to load the file

Do I need to re-install Apache or is there something else I can look at
to get SSI working? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!

-Pete
