Subject Re: Apache behind a firewall
Date Wed, 10 Apr 2002 13:02:47 GMT
I have been helping a friend set up his server behind a firewall. He's
using Mandrake's Single-Network Firewall, which has a nice interface for
setting up port forwarding (the firewall receives a request on port 80
and forwards it to the internal apache server, similar to a proxy).
This is not the only way to use apache behind a firewall, but he's had
great success with the product.

Remember - this is only one of several posible solutions. You can also
do some neat tricks with the ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse directives
like building a reverse proxy - see

Sorry about that. I was just hoping that someone might have pointed me
to a
faq or something. But that was what I needed to know really. I just
wanted
to know if there was something else, more esoteric, that needed to be
done.

Thanks for the help.
