It seems like the problem is NOT with your httpd.conf settings but with the
cgi file where it doesn't produce proper headers.  Make sure that the file
has execute permission and outputs the content-type.

i am new to apache and also to linux so im not sure if this is correct but
it works im running this on apache 1.3.24 and rh 7.1 
 
 
i have set  ... Options Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks ExecCGI All
MultiViews 
 
and for VH i haqve 2 both are set up like this

ServerName rott.adobygonebad.com
Documentroot /home/websites/rott.adobygonebad.com
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/websites/rott.adobygonebad.com/cgi-bin/
SSLEngine off
</VirtualHost>
 
and the other is <VirtualHost 192.168.1.100:80>
ServerName rott.adobygonebad.com
Documentroot /home/websites/adobygonebad.com
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/websites/adobygonebad.com/cgi-bin/
SSLEngine off
</VirtualHost>

any help getting cgi to work would be help full ;)
