Subject RE: mod_auth_ldap in conf returns syntax error

syntax error is on the loadmodule line; more specifically, 

cannot load c:\program files\apache group\apache2\/modules/mod_auth/ldap.dll
into server

the forward-backward slash has me perplexed. i know near zero about unix.
