hehe, sorry for chiming in so late here.. but are you sure you're
not just missing a simlink or something?  if you don't want to
deal with the hassle of compiling/installing a new libssl et c.
from source, try just symlinking whatever libssl.so you have
to libssl.so.0.9.6.1 and see if that works :)  also, is it possible
that these libraries are somehow not located in your /etc/ld.so.conf's
path?
