We use our corerouter as ntp server, and we have NO timedifference what so
ever, not a milisec (we use ntpdate).

Logging, we log everything into a database (mod_log_pgsql) and after that
we query it with some analyzing queries.
Im talking front-backend and a loadbalanced system also.
