OK. This sorted things out for me. You are right, the files does not exist
in the tarball but are created later.
In my case the files where not created properl due to another problem with
the loaction of one of the needed libararies.
I fixed it by setting  LD_LIBRARY_PATH to '/usr/local/lib'.

Was it actually in the tarball, or are you looking after
having tried to build?  Because those files are generated
by the build rather than being statically included in the
package..
