Subject RE: Cannot get HTML pages from my Apache server
Date Wed, 23 Jan 2002 02:11:43 GMT
I have the same problem . I will try to describe the problem in detail.
The IP of my computer installing Apache server is 172.20.30.155. I set
the host name as escortLinux.
And I try to access HTML pages from 172.20.30.150.
It's ok to ping from 172.20.30.150 to 172.20.30.155 , vice visa.

Results On server side:
the result of command : netstat -r

there is no information logged in error_log and access_log of the apache
log directory.

Sounds like a network problem.

I assume both your internal machines (browser and server) are connected
to the router and, since the browser can ping the server, there is a
route via the router from the browser to the server. But can the server
ping the browser machine? It could be the return path is not configured
correctly in the router.

What exactly does it say in the access log when the GET request is
*received*? Is there anything in the error_log?

Other things to look at on the server (as root):

# snoop port 80 (check traffic in and out)
# netstat -r (to see the routing table)
# ifconfig -a ( to check the IP addresses you're listening to).

Owen Boyle.
