Subject Core Dump in Apache on Oracle IAS 9i
Date Wed, 05 Dec 2001 04:08:00 GMT
Hi,
We are using Apache as our Web server through the application server Oracle
IAS 9i which is installed on Compaq Tru64 Unix.
The problem is that the Apache server seems to dump core very often.
There is no specific frequency of the core dumps. Somtimes it occurs within
hours and sometimes it lasts for a few days before dumping core.
There is not much traffic in the site we are hosting -- currently we are not
getting more that 250 hits a day.
We are using embedded HTML and javascript for the web pages.
During 9i installation we did a minimal installation.
A dbx of the core reveals what looks to be a memory leak, but does not shed
too much more light. A copy-paste of that section:

/uat1/soft/ias9i/Apache/Apache> dbx ./bin/httpd core.apr4
dbx version 5.1
Type 'help' for help.

Has anyone faced a similar problem? Could the configuration parameters be at
fault? Would appreciate any light shed on this?

Regards,
Rajesh
