why not just make a small script (or perl script) that uses cat to append to 
your conf file?
If you're trying to get mass virtual hosting working you can check out 
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/vhosts/mass.html#ipbased or use the mass virtual 
hosting module: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/mod/mod_vhost_alias.html
