That's fine. Thanks for the update. 

I did notice that per-dir CA cert stuff was implemented as EXPERIMENTAL in mod_ssl 2.8.22
and I don't know anyone who uses it. I felt I should patch the PERDIR code sections just in
case.

Thanks Tim.  I have an adapted version of your patch almost ready to
commit - I removed the per-dir config stuff since, like the per-dir-CA
stuff, it won't work currently and isn't terribly useful anyway.  (hope
that's OK with you?).
