Subject YAML: httpd distro package managers

Due to the huge variety and creativity displayed by those fine folks who
package the Apache Web Server up for distribution with the gzillion
operating systems which come with it, users tend to have problems with
the "default" configuration, which seem very odd to those of us doing
mailing list and IRC support of the product. Some of these "default"
configurations are just plain wrong, while others are simply confusing.
Various of us on IRC have discussed the benefits of having a mailing
list where the package managers can ask questions, or be berated for
their decisions. And, with any luck, we can get the various distros to
compare notes and arrive at some compromises.

To that end, I'd like to request Yet Another Mailing List, called
something like packages@httpd.apache.org or
packagemanagers@httpd.apache.org, or some such.

The list would be public, although I'd be willing to moderate if needed.

Thoughts?

Thanks.
