Subject mod_deflate, access log bytecount, debug message showing compression
Date Mon, 05 Aug 2002 13:56:09 GMT
The "Zlib: Compressed x to y : URL /foo" message doesn't account for
18 extra bytes of protocol data (10 before the compressed data, 8
after), so there is a discrepancy between this message and the
bytecount shown in the access log. An end user pointed out the
discrepancy to me, and since they are having some problems with
compressed javascript they were concerned that the discrepancy is
indicative of some problem with mod_deflate.

Any reason not to include the 18 in the debug message and drop the
"Zlib: " prefix on the message?
