I'm assuming you mean that I should *only* do:

ps -p `cat /where/my/pid/file/that/i/placed/in/my/conf/file/is`
kill -HUP `cat /where/my/pid/file/that/i/placed/in/my/conf/file/is`

There's more than one way to skin the poor cat.  -- justin
