Oh, and, yes, there is a conversion tool for GNATS -> RT
It is in the contrib/rt-addons directory on wherever mirror you find RT.
For example,
ftp://ftp.eu.uu.net/pub/unix/ticketing/rt/contrib/2.0/rt-addons/import-gnats
