Thanks!  I think you're saying that you tested some variant of Berkely DB, so I
feel much better about this change.

my top priorities:

1. insure the bug db stuff works post-.31
2. check out the new flavor of core dump Jeff moved into
/usr/local/apache2_0_31.patched/corefiles
3. torture test the input side code with prematurely closed connections
4. get .31 + new patches running live on daedalus
5. think about how we can re-tag a stable set of code similar to that in step 4
