I'm definitely in favor of sticking with worker and throwing out
threaded, at least until somebody can remind me of any better
properties of threaded...

darn straight...  please excuse...  I blame it on a certain
significant other for leaving the grocery list in the car and not
replenishing the supply of coffee filters...
