Subject RE: [PATCH] 2. Enable SHMHT, SHMCB for SSL Session Caching
Date Wed, 07 Nov 2001 19:13:23 GMT
Oops.. I'd forgotten to highlight the changes here..
1. ssl_util.c : I've introduced all the dynamic crypto locks that are
prescribed by OpenSSL. They may never be used - but I introduced them just
for the completeness of the requirement..
2. ssl_util_table.c : The SHMHT method of session caching produces seg
faults (atleast on HPUX) under heavy load conditions.. The fix (line 1740)
resolves this problem.. I've posted this fix on the modssl-users mailing
list also.. Pl. review this fix and let me know if you have any issues /
3. For SHMHT (ssl_scache_shmht.c), I'm currently using a global mod_config
structure - which I know is pretty ugly. I haven't been able to make it
cleaner, but will do it shortly.. I'd be happy to receive any suggestions
regarding this..
4. I've introduced APR_SHM_MAXSIZE(=64M) in mod_ssl.h. This is the maximum
size of the shared memory segment that the user can generate for SSL
sessions.. The name may be inappropriate - any different name is
welcome..[or do you want me to repost the entire patch with a different
5. Rest is just porting to the Apache 2.0 compatible API's..

Subject: [PATCH] 2. Enable SHMHT, SHMCB for SSL Session Caching

I've tried to enable the SHMHT and the SHMCB methods of SSL session
caching.. It'd be great if somebody could pl. review and commit it
accordingly.. Pl. do let me know if you have any questions / suggestions..

PS: This patch has a dependency on "[PATCH] 1. SHMEM" that I'd posted a
while back..
