Other major projects, like the XML and Java stuff, came afterward, and are based on a related hostname. The HTTP server project started following suit when the project's Web site became 'httpd.apache.org'. Now all that remains is the mailing lists.. At some point in the near future, the project mailing lists are going to be renamed: current name will become new-httpd@apache.org dev@httpd.apache.org apache-cvs@apache.org cvs@httpd.apache.org (httpd-1.3-cvs and httpd-2.0-cvs are just aliases for apache-cvs) The apache-docs, site, devsite, httpd-win32-msi-cvs, and other lists will also need to be renamed, but the new names are not yet set. (Suggestions?) After the rename, mail sent to the old addresses will be bounced back with a 'here is the new list address' message.
