What do you mean "now"? It has had it for years. Demon's Homepages
system (designed in 1996) uses Squid reverse proxies. You also need
reverse proxy functionality to be a transparent proxy, which Squid can
also do.

Squid is GPLed. Squid doesn't have SSL (afaik -- this may have changed
recently). Squid's authentication support is comparatively limited.
