FWIW

I ran a heavy connect/disconnect test against
www.apache.org:8092 at 2:30 AM CST 01/21/01.

I used an altered version of ApacheBench with a '-d'
disconnect option that hammers a connection with
connects and immediate disconnects ( No request
data ever sent... not 1 byte ).

Test was performed 10 times with 1000 hits per test.

The Server didn't miss a trick and didn't 'go south'
as was reported some weeks ago when a connection
was made but no data arrived and the inbound filtering
burped.

This was by no means a DOS attack since there were
pauses between the 1000 hits but looks like all would
have been well even if it were.
