Subject Scripted installation process
Date Thu, 11 Jan 2001 22:03:58 GMT
Hi! I sent this message to Brian Behlendorf, but it
returned undelivered. I don't know if this is still relevant and I don't
know to whom it should be sent instead. So, I appologize for sending it
out to the whole list, could somebody point me to the right address?
Thanks. Yury.

Hello Brian! I was looking at Apache project Wish List and noticed item:

"scripted installation process, i.e. one that asks questions about the
site and generates the conf files appropriately - beb "
I was wondering what you meant by that exactly, b'ze we do something
like that as a part of our install - so if you can tak a look at the way
our installation works and see if it's close to what you *wish* for,
maybe we can contribute somehow?
Our install includes back end shell and Perl scripts and front end Web
based GUI.
We configure httpd.conf based on Ports selected by the user, (both
regular and SSL), modules we include in distribution ( some of them user
has a choice to select or not ), DocumentRootDir etc. We install MySQL,
Prl and PHP as well as Apache. If you think it's of any interest to you
you can download our stuff from (registration required, it's free) or I think I can
send you a CD. Please let me know. Thanks for your time.
