Subject RE: Fix :(
Date Sun, 08 Oct 2000 18:24:00 GMT

Okay, this has been put at my door step. I am not rolling the alpha right
now. The problem comes because telnet is sending one character at a time,
and the code was never tested or designed for that. :-( I do know how to
fix it. Unfortunately, I have been ignoring my wife for a few days, so I
am taking this afternoon to spend some time with her.

I will say that I do almost all of my testing through telnet, and my
telnet's send lines at a time, not characters. I personally think it is a
brain dead telnet that sends single characters at a time.

Having said all of that, I will be rolling a patch when I get back from
shopping with Kelly that should fix this problem. I will test it as best
I can by myself, and then I will commit. It sounds like OtherBill can
test this problem, and I think telnetting from my 98 machine to my Linux
box will let me test it as well. As soon as it has been properly tested,
I will roll that alpha. That may mean we don't roll until tomorrow. At
this point, there is no garauntee that we will roll today, but I am hoping
we do.

I'll post when I have a patch available.
