Yes, I am serious, and your previous example IMHO proves that I am
correct.  If we have a filter that converts from HTML to WML, then we want
the error page to go through that filter.  By-passing the filters for
"canned error responses" wouldn't allow the error response to be
modified.  Removing the current filter stack and putting a new one in it's
place may work, but there is a higher chance that the filters will cause
an infinite loop.  Just inserting a new filter, and continuing on, makes
sense, it allows everything to just work.
