Subject Getting the original source ip when using ProxyPass?
Date Thu, 14 Sep 2000 09:17:27 GMT

Here is a question which does not seem to be answered by the documentation.

The setup: Apache server "A" with a virtualhost block containing only
ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse statements to another apache server "B". The
"B" server would like to get the original client IP number and other client
information - basically everything to re-create the apache log that would be
on the "A" server. Typically needed in a PHP application that restricts some
access based on IP number or needs the IP for whatever other reason. We
don't want to do anything on server "A" except the ProxyPassing.

Is the information already sent over via the ProxyPass in some form
accessible using PHP/cgi (x-headers perhaps? (like squid)), and if so, how?
(a phpinfo() on "B" does not seem to reveal what we need from the original
client). Or if not, does anyone think this would be a problem to implement?

Med venlig hilsen / Best regards
