On my FreeBSD machines, it "feels" like they are more sluggish
with 2.0a6 (the tarball) than with 1.3.12, but they require
much less resources. 2.0 is far from tuned on any platform,
I think... but that's the whole idea behind alphas. First get
it to work, and then tune it.
