Hmmm, I wondered about that.  I'd rather actually roll an alpha now BEFORE
we have the filtering patch in place, then roll again once it's there.  I
realise it's more work (and if I were in a place where I could do the
rolling I would volunteer but I'm not so I won't) but there have been a lot
of changes and having another alpha doesn't hurt anything but does provide
another cue for testing that we need.

As we keep saying, it is ONLY an alpha!
