Thanx Jeff & Bill.  Unfortunately, I got the same result when I tried to
build from the project files.  I had to copy over ap.lib from my 2.0a1
build.  I then got the same unresolved external while linking Apache.

Here are a few more clues/facts/...
I am extracting the archive into a new tree and doing an entire rebuild.
I am having no trouble with my 2.0a1 build.
I am using MSVC 6.0.
I am building in a directory called /Apache/Server_2.0a4.
