Subject ap_open(), permissions on access_log, error_log
Date Sat, 22 Apr 2000 14:19:55 GMT
What are the desired permissions of these logs on Unix (before umask
is applied)?

1.3:

-rw-r--r--   1 trawick  trawick    149180 Apr 20 10:32 access_log
-rw-rw-r--   1 trawick  trawick       270 Apr 16 22:46 error_log

2.0:

-rw-r--r--   1 trawick  trawick    795355 Apr 20 10:33 access_log
-rwxrwxr-x   1 trawick  trawick     18947 Apr 20 10:33 error_log

I would think that 0666 is the desired permission value to pass to
open(). Furthermore, this makes sense as the APR default permissions
on Unix.

So...

. Open both access_log and error_log with APR_OS_DEFAULT.
. Change ap_open() code for Unix to map APR_OS_DEFAULT to 0666 instead
  of 0777.

Anybody agree, disagree, give a rip in general?
