Exactly what I am thinking.  btw... the 9x pipe issue is that an
anon pipe is a unique beast, and not feature compliant with a named
pipe.  NT's anon pipes -are- unique named pipes.  Plus, without the
waitformultipleobjects, et al, they are less than useful for 9x.
