Subject [OT] ANNOUNCE -- WorldWide Web Performance Monitoring
Date Sat, 19 Feb 2000 17:41:40 GMT
I thought this announcement may be of general interest to the group
members

WorldWide Web Performance Monitoring is designed to help webmasters
monitor the time it takes to download URLs from various spots on the
Web. The
goal is to provide a set of tools, which can be deployed easily, to
volunteer monitoring stations around the world.

http://webperf.sourceforge.net/

There are currently 15-20 agents located mainly in the US

We are looking for web admins who:

a) want to see how their own web sites are performing from around the
world.

b) are willing to become to run the agent in one (or more) locations

c) optionally willing to spend some time to help develop the toolset/
analysis functions further

There are some demo graphs of yahoo and some other sites so you can get
a feel for what we
currently provide, and we are open to suggestions on where to take this.
