The whole point of mod_vhost_alias is to not require a vhost data
structure, etc. for each vhost.

The whole point of the hostname change was to only reference the vhost
data structure in the shared data instead of copying the hostname.

Those are mutually exclusive goals.  Either you need a vhost data
structure to reference or you need to copy the string.

I think I pointed out that it would break things like this when it was
done, although I may have just thought about pointing it out.
