Subject [Enhancement] : apachectl script.
Date Mon, 12 Jul 1999 07:37:38 GMT
Hello,

apache_1.3.4/src/support/apachectl script when invoked with
"status" command line option, tries to invoke lynx. If the "lynx"
browser is not present on the system, it reports an error as below:

# bin/apachectl status
UX:sh (bin/apachectl): ERROR: lynx: not found
#

How would the be idea of enabling the System Administrator to view the
status of the running Apache Server (in a login window/console),
*even if* the lynx browser is not present on the system?

Please comment on this idea.

I want to take up this work, if this idea is acceptable for you.

Thanks,
Jayaram.
