But that´s about the only thing that X3J11 (ANSI-C) promises you:
that a NULL pointer, when casted to an int, will be == 0.
Nowhere does it ask for the binary internal representation of a
NULL pointer to be all-bits-zero, however.

OTOH, I´m with you 100% when it comes to "expressing the intention"
(of a comparison between a random pointer and the NULL pointer).
