Names exported to the C linker by the APR project should be prefixed:

   [ ] apr_         [ ] ap_       [X] I don't care

If we think we'll redo the API, and I've seen some rumblings of this,
then downstream modules are irrelevant (well, they will be covered by
an adapter module, I hope).
