Subject 1.3.4 SHOWSTOPPERS (Reminder)
Date Wed, 30 Dec 1998 19:32:30 GMT
Hi,

if we want to release 1.3.4 on 4. January we should fix/resolve
the following showstoppers ASAP!

RELEASE SHOWSTOPPERS:

    * Version component misbehaviour
        See: <36738822.D2FD6C0@lyra.org>
        Status: Ralf mentioned that he knows a solution... (?)

    * Paul's [PATCH] Win32 device files
        Message-ID: <Pine.LNX.4.00.9812021631410.21697-100000@ecstasy.localnet>
                and <000401be2225$861f11b0$bf4d2509@wolfpad.raleigh.ibm.com>
        Status: Someone who knows the current status of this thing should
                apply it now, since the rest of us can't test it otherwise.

    * nmake compilation broken on Win95
      Paul Ausbeck says the problem is that the distribution uses
      %PARAM% type arguments in nmake invokations.
        Message-ID: <36684B1D.5A47@alumni.cse.ucsc.edu>
        Status: patch needed since we can't test above without it

    * long pathnames with many components and no AllowOverride None
        Status: Marc is looking at it

RELEASE NON-SHOWSTOPPERS BUT WOULD BE REAL NICE TO WRAP THESE UP:

    * How should an Apache binary release tarball look?

      - A proposed solution is available.
        See: <XFMail.981213175013.sfx@unix-ag.org>
             <XFMail.981226052910.sfx@unix-ag.org>

*sigh* Has anyone tested the binbuild stuff?

ciao...

sfx@unix-ag.org - should indeed be avoided.
