The script doesn't work in most cases
for me.  md5 isn't on a lot of my machines.
gzip isn't there.  I get failures on the -ldb.
I can hack around all that but then the
binaries I make will be sometimes unique.

I like the binary tar files not having the source
in them.

Don't let this effort hold up the release,
as Brian said nt, lynx, solaius, and freebsd
would be good though.

I agree about the usr/local prefix being
extra cruft.  A lot of people don't have
easy access to their root and like to
install in their own area, particularly
for one off intranet servers and testing
purposes.  Often the guy that runs
root is very difficult to deal with :-).
