I wasn't aware that a configuration change was necessary.  I'm running with
-C 50, which I thought meant that anyone could access it, up to 50 clients.
 I see Ralf has been able to successfully get through and update his tree,
but that others who had before I upgraded had not.  You might all need to
upgrade your cvsup clients?  I thought only a server upgrade was necessary
to deal with the "whitespace"/whole-file-retransmit problems folks were
having earlier, but maybe clients need to be too.  Try installing cvsup
client, version 15.5.
