Subject: new "port"

These changes worked for a compile on  a Linux debian bo system.  The
debian packages are currently broken.
  They would not compile or extract.  I have made some simple tests and
it works.
 It uses the regex for debian so you have to make sure that package is
installed.  It is a dev package.
