I would prefer changing them in the source, too - but that is
certainly not for 1.3.  Renaming is the way to go at this point,
if we go there at all.

Yup.  The fun part of that is that it means definitively identifying
what interfaces are part of the API, and which aren't - which has
been an issue forever.  Fortunately, Alexei already did much of
it when he applied the APACHE_mumble macros.

I think the definitive list of exported symbols you've created
with UpdateHide, together with Alexei's work, makes it finally
possible to identify just what interfaces really are part of
the API.  I'll try to narrow down the API/internal distinctions
and post a list later.  For 1.3, enhancing UpdateHide to deal
with such a list would be good, IMHO.

I would *really* like to have a clearly-defined API before we
put the current effort on the shelf and turn our whole attention
to 2.0.
