Excuse me, but we were talking about 1.2.6, not 1.3. What's in 1.3
is NOT what we were talking about... We were talking about
making a change (which isn't needed because as far as I can
tell the latest 1.2 CVS _does_ allow CC=gcc -<whatever> in
Configuration) which I think is wrong. What if they wanted to be
able to put '-static' in CFLAGS and have it work all the time?
Would we simply say "Wow... that's flexible. Let's do it" or would
we think about it for about 2 seconds and say "well, it really
doesn't belong there".

And I find it quite strange how when anyone wishes to impose
restrictions you jump and down and say No, unless, of course,
it's you who want the restrictions.

What is it exactly about yourself that is soooooo special? I
think it's fantastic that you answer so many things on the
comp....servers.unix NG, but your answers always have this
tone of superiority about them ("You are aware of course that..."
and "If you would look at the documentation it would be obvious..."
-- yes, these are paraphrases).

Whew! I've said _way too much_ already... but families like this
do have spats...
