We're one of the few packages which still provides both methods.  Of
course I haven't gone out and statistically sampled other packages though
... 

At any rate, it seems like a waste of 35mb of disk to me (speaking as one
of the mirrors).  The whole site is only 92Mb, so that's a fair portion.
