I've given up on this tool for now.  I spent probably 10 hours trying to
get a version that would work on the transmeta linux boxes (which are
running a non-standard kernel which messes up crap).  I didn't learn
anything useful from it ... because it hits some instruction it can't
handle right after booting. 

Also, looking at the purify stuff posted I couldn't figure anything out. 
It looks to me like purify really doesn't handle the inaddr code very well
at all.
