Actually, those *are* the latest patches for TCP/IP.  But unless you
change tcp_rexmit_interval_initial as I described, it won't make any
difference if you have these patches or not.  The default value for
the initial RTT estimate is not modified by these patches.  You
still have to set it yourself to something more reasonable.  You can
verify this yourself with the command:

ndd -get /dev/tcp tcp_rexmit_interval_initial

and verify the value.  It should be 500, but you want it to be 5000
(or at least 2000).
