I don't know when the 1.3 feature freeze is. It was supposed to be a week
ago. I don't think it was, though. I don't think it's at least until next

AFAIK, there are still a number of patches outstanding. My sig_term
patch, for example, which I've vetoed a 1.3b1 release without. I'll send
an updated patch later today.

There's also the Windows binary issue. Has there been any more progress
with InstallShield? If not, we need to come up with a method to create a
binary-only release, and document it at Actually, we do either way (InstallShield
or not). If not, I can put something up there.

And some things still bug me about Windows, which I'd like to see
resolved before 1.3b1:

* The filename stuff. But I think that's being worked on.
* AFAIK, Listen still doesn't work. I seem to remember a patch being
posted, but I don't remember it ever being applied.
* Windows doesn't call child_init and child_exit properly (or at all).
* I still don't understand this "runtime DLL" thing. I just don't seem to
get it. Admittedly, I don't use Windows all that much, but all the
software I've ever installed that didn't use an installer program seems
to just have an .exe file I can run. I don't remember seeing any
dlls. So why does Apache need them again?

There are probably other things as well, that I don't remember.
