Yes, this should go into 1.2.3!   Because without this patch the
proxy-pass-through feature actually would be totally broken  in 1.2.3.
Hhhuaaa! Thanks Marc. I've immediately comitted it to APACHE_1_2_X so we don't
forget it. Tomorror I want to roll the final 1.2.3. Please commit it to 1.3
yourself, too.
