+1 on any patch which detects the default lame-ass cc on HP/UX and tells
the user to install gcc.

You could probably just do this:

cat >hpux-cc-test.c <<EOF
int foo ( const char *c )
{
return 0;
}
EOF

$CC -c hpux-cc-test.c 2>&1 | grep '"const" will become a keyword'
