Subject wonder why www.microsoft.com is down?

offtopic, but I found it so hilarious...

I think the answer to "why has www.microsoft.com been down for a day" is
obvious:

hint: what happens when all the records except one expire?  You got it,
all the clients try to access one server.  Now, since NT is so scalable
you would expect that to be no problem, but... obviously it is.

I wonder how much of their downtime was someone crashing IIS with the
recent hole (give it a particular URL, it crashes) and how much was MS
being stupid with dns...
